Drinks, Adaptogens, Energy

We all know how it feels to crash after a long day or a big project. Whether physically or mentally exhausted, we want to relax and recharge. Unfortunately, sometimes it can be hard to get our energy levels back up. This is where adaptogens can help.

Adaptogens are a class of natural, plant-based substances that help the body adapt to stress and promote balance.

Unlike many other supplements and ingredients, adaptogens are non-specific, meaning they can help the body deal with any stressor, whether physical, mental, or emotional. Interestingly, adaptogens also seem to have a positive effect on energy levels. In one study, Ashwagandha, an adaptogenic herb, increased energy and reduced fatigue in people struggling with chronic stress.

Another study found that a combination of Rhodiola and Schisandra, two other adaptogenic herbs, improved energy levels, mental performance, and physical fitness in soldiers during a high-altitude training exercise. So, if you’re feeling run down and need a natural energy boost, consider adding some adaptogenic herbs to your diet. You can find them in powder or capsule form at most health food stores or make your adaptogenic drinks at home.
